Vancouver Island can be
accessed by ferry from the mainland of British Columbia at the BC
Ferry terminals in Horseshoe Bay (west Vancouver to Nanaimo's Departure
Bay) or Tsawwassen (Vancouver to Duke Point, south of Nanaimo, or
to Swartz Bay in Victoria). Victoria is less than a 2 hour
drive south of Nanaimo.
You can also fly from Vancouver airport to
the Nanaimo airport, or you can hop a float plane from downtown
Vancouver to downtown Nanaimo. Getting here is half
the fun! The ferry rides are a great way to witness some of
the spectacular scenery that this area has to offer and whales have
been sighted!
